GATE CSE Tracker is a study tracker. It is free, shows no ads, sells nothing, does not sell or share your data, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
If you use the app as a guest, nothing you enter ever leaves your device. If you sign in with Google, your study data is backed up to your own private area of our database so you can restore it on another device.

Signing in uses Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. From your Google account we receive your name, email address, profile photo URL, and a unique account identifier. We use these only to identify your account and to show your name in the app.
We never receive your Google password.
When you are signed in, the following is backed up to Cloud Firestore so it survives a reinstall or a change of device: syllabus and topic progress, previous-year-question progress, revision schedules and rounds, self-rated topic confidence and logged sectional-test scores, mock test scores, video-watching progress, flashcard decks and their review schedules, study history and planner settings, saved links, your exam date, your activity streak, and your detox challenges.
A detox challenge includes the habit you named, the reason you typed for stopping, which days you marked clean or logged as a slip, and any note you attached to a slip. These are free-text fields you write yourself — whatever you type into them is what gets backed up, so treat them as you would any note stored in your account.
This data is stored under your account identifier and the database rules permit only your own signed-in account to read or write it.
A study plan you import is read on your device. The file itself is not copied into the app or uploaded — only the plan you confirm on the preview screen is saved, as subjects and a timeline, and that is backed up with the rest of your study data if you are signed in. The one exception is if you ask for the optional AI clean-up described under "AI features".
PDF files you add, and the images and audio you attach to flashcards, are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded — including the audio you record in the app, which is saved straight to your device and is not sent anywhere, not to us and not to any AI service. Because these files are not backed up, they do not follow your account to another device: the card comes across, the picture and the sound do not.
Theme choice and sound settings stay on the device and are not uploaded.
You can use the app without an account. In guest mode everything you enter is stored only on your device, nothing is uploaded, and no account is created.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to learn about crashes and errors so they can be fixed. A report may include the type of error, where in the app it happened, your device model and operating system version, and a short trail of recent app events.
These reports deliberately record no name, email address or account identifier. They do record whether the session was a guest session or a signed-in one, because that changes which parts of the app were running.
You can turn crash reporting off at any time in Settings → Privacy → "Send crash reports". Nothing is sent while it is off, and the rest of the app is unaffected.
If you use "Report a Bug" in Settings, the email is prepared with the app version and a short list of recent app events so the problem can be reproduced. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself, and you can edit or delete any of it first.
The app has three optional AI features, all powered by Google's Gemini models through Firebase AI Logic. None of them runs unless you ask it to, and all require a signed-in account.
"Explain this topic" sends only the name of the syllabus topic you tapped and the subject it belongs to. It sends nothing you have typed, and nothing about your progress.
"AI Tutor" is a conversation, so it sends what you type. Your question, the topic the conversation is anchored to, and the last few messages of that conversation are sent to Google to produce a reply. Please do not type personal information into it — there is no reason to, and the point below explains why it matters.
"Tidy this plan with AI", offered when you import a study plan, sends the text of the document you picked. That is the largest thing the app ever sends, so it is entirely optional, it asks you every time before sending anything, and it tells you how much text would go. Importing a plan works without it: the file is read and understood on your device, and you can correct the result by hand. If your document has anything personal in it, that text would be sent too, so use this only on documents you are comfortable sending.
These requests run on Google's no-cost Gemini tier. Under that tier's terms, Google may use what is sent and what comes back to improve its products, and that can include review by a human. This is why the tutor asks you not to include personal details, and why the rest of the app never sends your study data to a model.
Requests are not sent with your name or email address. Your account ID is used only to count your daily allowance, which is stored in our database and not sent to Google's AI service.
Tutor conversations are stored on your device only. They are not backed up to your account and are not readable by us. You can delete any conversation from inside the tutor screen, and clearing the app's data or deleting your account removes all of them.
AI answers are generated and can be wrong. Do not rely on them without checking against your textbook or the official syllabus.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
Your data is processed by Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Crashlytics) purely to provide the sign-in, backup and crash-reporting described above. No other third party receives it.
If you use an AI feature, the content described under "AI features" is sent to Google's Gemini service to produce the answer.
We may disclose data if required to do so by law.
Your study data is kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed, as described below.
Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics according to Google's own retention schedule and are not linked to your identity.
You can use the app entirely offline as a guest, with no account.
You can turn off crash and diagnostic reporting in Settings → Privacy.
You can sign out at any time from Settings. Signing out leaves your study data on the device so signing back in is instant.
You can permanently delete your account and all of its data from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your stored study data, your authentication record, and everything the app has saved on the device. It cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to request a copy of your data, to correct it, or to object to its processing. Write to prasunappssupport@gmail.com and we will respond.
The app is intended for candidates preparing for a postgraduate engineering entrance examination and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will appear here with a new "last updated" date, and the change will be noted in the app release notes.
